Postgraduate Student Visa

Hello. I am currently studying in Scotland for a Masters. However, there may be a chance that I am not allowed onto the dissertation portion and will only be awarded a Postgrad Diploma. What happens to my student visa if this happens? Is it automatically voided? I'm supposed to stay here until september but if I don't get to the dissertation portion, technically the course
finishes in May. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you. That helps. Would you know if it's allowed for me to look for a job during those 60 days, and if I succeed, for me to try and apply for another visa? Or would that look terribly wrong? I am trying to get my Masters but I still feel I should be informed of alternatives. I really would love to live in the UK or in the EU and I feel that if I can't get the Masters then I can atleast bring my work skills into account and definitely find a job.

I'm also aware that they aren't taking application for highly skilled workers from outside the UK, this is why if I don't get the Masters, then I'd like to try and find a job to apply from here.
