Wife of Brit Citizen BC application

Post by eeckard » Thu Jun 29, 2006 10:54 am

My wife is applying via the NCS for British Citizenship based on marriage to me (a BC). The form says that I need to send my British passport with the application, as the application is based on marriage to me for 3 years (she has ILR, written test etc.etc.). Now here is the question - as we will use the NCS, will they simply certify my British passport (as they will do my wife's foreign passport) and give it back to me, or does it need to go with the application as original as proof that I am a BC?

Given that the application is being made via NCS ..... both passports ... both yours and your wife's ... need to be taken to the NCS office ... but both will be photocopied there and then and handed straight back to you.

This is one of the main advantages of using NCS .... not losing possession of passports ... except for a couple of minutes while they are photocopied.
