Can I apply on 15 April

Hi

I appreciate in advance for your read and comments.

I have an appointment with Ealing council on 15th April, but bit worried if I am eligible to apply.

I came to UK May 2001 as student, then trasnfered on WP in May 2005. I got my ILR on 15th April 2010.

I was out of country on 4 day trip to Spain from 13 April 2006 to 17 April 2006.
I was just reading the notes somewhere that I should be physically present on 15th April 2006 (exactly 5 years back). Is this case? Even though I was resident well before that time and due to easter break i was on holiday....

The application must not be received by UKBA between 13-Apr-11 and 17-Apr-11. When you apply is not relevant, what is relevant here is the date of receipt.

The day UKBA receives your application, you must have been present in the UK on that date 5 years ago.

So, if NCS can make sure that your application reaches UKBA only after 17-Apr-11, despite you submitting the application to them on the 15th, then you should be okay. If not, then you'll need to reschedule.

Thanks for your prompt reply. As the applicaton is reaching HO on 17th April, which is Monday. It is fine as I was back on 17th April 2006. A very narrow escape...))

Well no actually! The 17th is a Sunday, so the application will reach UKBA in Liverpool on Monday 18th. Given you got back to the UK from Spain on 17.04.06, there is no problem.
