Visa fees and cost of living

Post by shujaat » Sat Apr 16, 2011 2:13 pm

Dear All,
I am planning to start my Masters degree education from UK. The course length will definitely be more than 12 months. I will be staying in UK on student visa and my wife will be my dependent. I have number of queries and will highly appreciate if anyone can reply.

1- I need to know the fees of student and dependent visas.
2- Also what would be the living cost for 2 persons?
3- I know I can work for 20 hours in a week but can my wife work full time?
4- During the stay can my wife apply for change of visa status from dependent to Tier-2 (General)? And if yes, what will be the procedure?

Hope someone can shed some light on it.

Best Regards!

Read the tier 4 policy guidance and the PBS dependent guidance and then come back if you have not found the answers to your questions. Read the tier 2 guidance and ukba section on tier 2 reading whether your spouse can switch.
