I have recently joined these boards.
I have recently extended my Tier 1 Visa and it is now valid until April 2013. However, I become eligible for PR in August 2011 and I am planning to apply for the same. On top of that, my wife (who is with me in the UK on Tier 1 Dependant) is expecting and is due to deliver in May 2011
.My dilemma is whether to wait till August 2011 and directly apply for PR for my newborn baby or would it be risky to wait for 3 months? Should I apply for a dependant visa for my baby first and then apply for PR in August? Assuming that the baby is born in May, it may take us 3-4 weeks to register his/her name and another 3-4 weeks to apply for the passport. That should take us to the beginning/middle of July.
I have tried searching on the UKBA website but there is no information on how long we can wait before we have to apply for a visa for a newborn baby. If any of you have been in this situation, I would be grateful if you can help me out.
