Living costs for tier 4 visa? HELP PLEASE

Post by shereez234 » Wed Apr 20, 2011 9:43 pm

UKBA states that 5400 pounds is needed for living costs if outside london (that is 600 pounds per month for nine months)

so is this living cost calculated with or without accommodation included in it actually?

and i have paid my accommodation. i got a scanned confirmation letter for full payment and it is signed by the manager of the hall i am going to stay. can i print it out and use it as an evidence for already paid payments?

one more question. to prove any fees we have paid there are two ways right? either CAS or original receipt. what if we tick both boxes in the form and provide two evidences at once? is it allowed?

UKBA says "We are aware that some students will have been required to pay some or all of the fees for their course and accommodation before they enter the UK. Arrangements have been built into the guidance and application forms to accommodate such pre-paid fees."

So check out the policy guidance at UKBA website :)

To make it easy I have checked out the guidance and its in 156 and 157 which says

If the Tier 4 (General) student can show that he/she has already paid all or some of his/

156. her course fees to his/her Tier 4 sponsor before making his/her application this amount can be taken away from the total amount of money he/she will need to show.
If the Tier 4 (General) student can show that he/she has already paid all or some of his/

157. her accommodation fees to his/her Tier 4 sponsor before making his/her application, this amount also can be taken away from the total amount of money he/she will need to show for living costs. This only applies if the Tier 4 (General) student will be staying in university or college arranged accommodation.
