Conditions for spouse visa

Post by kiisudankan » Fri Apr 22, 2011 9:58 am

My wife has heard on various Japanese UK immigration forums that if you haven't been married and/or living together for 2 years then getting a spouse visa (VAF4A) could be difficult (and they are definitely referring to the VAF4A not the FLM(M)). Is this true? It makes no sense since the VAF4A is for a 2 year probationary visa and how would it be possible to have been married for 2 years already if you can't get a visa if you haven't been together for 2 years?!?

Relax. They are confusing this with an Unmarried Partner Visa where co-habitation has be for a minimum of 2 years.
In the Spouse application all you have to show regarding the relationship is that the marriage is genuine.
