QUESTION RE. MY ROMANIAN GIRLFRIEND ALREADY IN THE UK

Post by r3aps » Tue Apr 26, 2011 2:00 am

i have a romanian gf who was working as an au pair in the uk.after 2 months of her job she walked out on the family who where treating her like dirt.
she is presently staying with me,we need to find out if she needs to return immediately to romania as i have read that if not working they can only stay for 3 months.
also she wishes to stay here with me,i am financially able to take care of her and am willing to do so,but how do we go about this.i have looked at form BR1 the registration form and it classes self sufficient as haveing a spouse or family member take care of her,yet on the general guidance it says a partner can do this, but on the form there is no mention of it.
so can i be her partner(boyfriend) and sponsor her to stay here?
also if she wanted to find more work is there anyway of doing this?

any help would be very appreciated.
thanks
steve

i have lived in the uk all my life.
am in full time well paid employment and have been for 20 odd years so finances are not a problem.
