College informing the UK border agency that Im not attending

Post by sanjayrocks » Tue Apr 26, 2011 6:17 pm

Hi,

I recently received the Unmarried Partner visa for 2 years and I did give my college the copy of the visa and informed that I am not now under student visa.

The home office has come to the college for a check and the stupid college has informed that I am not attending the college and and also they have sent me a warning message.

What should I do. I dont trust the stupid admins at the college. Is there anyway i can inform the UK border agency directly so I will have a peace of mind.

Thank you

no you do not need to attend if you now have an unmarried partner visa. If you are not attending why are you worried that they have told the UKBA this? I don't understand

Because I don't need any problems to occur. I wish home office can check. Dont need any unnecessary issues occurring and wasting my time. Thats why I asked whether I can directly contact Border Agency

You should continue to satisfy the conditions of your existing status before being granted FLR(M) (295D(iv)).

If you already have the FLR(M), then you are subject to different conditions. college attendance is not one of them.

what do you need to check with UKBA about?

Your sponsor has followed the procedures in telling UKBA that you are no longer studying, which you are not.

You currently have leave to remain which allows you to work and therefore the fact that the college has informed the UKBA that you are no longer studying doesn't matter.

What do you need to tell the UKBA that they don't already know?

Well they sent me the letter as warning letter and they will complain about me to the UKBA that my attendance is 64% and which result in cancelling my Visa

This is why Im concerned.

If I have FLR(m), is that means my current Unmarried Partner Visa which is valid till 2013. Should I contact college and explain to them that I dont need to attend as Im not under student visa and ask them to not to treat me as a student and take me out from their system?

Thanks

Your student visa is already cancelled and replaced with unmarried partner visa. So what home office will cancel if you don't attend the classes. let the college do what ever they want unless you have some tuition fees due.

can i ask "sanjayrocks"? once you have changed your visa status and now you are in a different visa category then from where the tution fee matter comes from?? for example some one has been granted 4 years student visa and he pays fee yearly, in his case if he change his student visa to other immigration category then, is he supposed to pay the whole remaining 3 years fee even after his student visa has been replaced to Spouse visa???......

That is nothing to do with visa , if you owe the college money for your fees you should pay it . Sounds like you are not a genuine student
