tier 2 ICT resignation

Post by justmemyself » Tue Apr 26, 2011 5:31 pm

hi
I am here in UK on tier 2 ICT and my visa is valid till oct 2011.
1. what if I wanted to stay back even if i have finished my assignment. what are the options I have.
2. If i have grabbed a contract I have prospective sponsors to sponsor me on tier 2 general . How risky is it ?
3. if I resign the current employer (my sponsor) how much leave time will I have to stay in UK.
4.what limitations does it have on my husband who is on my dependent visa and is currently working. while am off employment
Please help me am running out of time and options.

Thanks,
SP

1. You must apply for leave to remain in immigration category that you qualify for before your current "valid" leave expires or is curtailed.
2. See also Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General.
3. See If your job ends
4. You husband may continue to be employed as long as his leave to enter / remain is valid. If your leave is curtailed, so will his be.

hi sushdmehta,

thanks for the reply.

so from the link you have provided .. if I resign the job I will have 2 months time to remain in UK or if my visa is valid less then 6 months there is no limit applied and I can remain as long my visa is valid..
in my case my visa expires on 01/10/11 which is less than 6 months so what would be my scenario . I am planning to resign by end of april ... while I search for a new sponsored job my husband is eligible to work ... is it right ??

Due to this holiday period all the job applications are running slow I am sure I can grab a job by end of may.. do my husband needs to resign as i have resigned its confusing please explain..

thanks

No, as long as your and your husband's leave is valid.

Also, please re-read my (edited) response above.
