British citizensip for children over 18

Post by moonlight » Mon May 02, 2011 1:41 am

Hi,
A bit unusal situation. would be helpful if some one can guide on this issue.
My neighbour- uncle and his 2nd wife got ILR now and hopefully they will apply for british citizenship after a year. Uncle was in UK as dependent and got ILR with his 2nd wife after completing five years on workperit. His first wife and a son from her are still in India now and never been to UK before. Son is 29 year old.

My question is can his first wife and son get ILR on this basis once uncle gets british citizenship ?

Please answer if you can guide in this situation.

Thanks

I don't think so.

I agree Vinny, the 29yo son's ability to become British is not improved whatsoever because his father now has ILR and will become British.

Simply, nothing has changed ... for the son.
