Ancestry Visa, work visa or spouse visa?

Post by British Canadian » Tue May 03, 2011 9:08 pm

I posted on the family board but this might be a better place to pose this question. If I have British citizenship, but have been a resident in Canada for the last 15 years, should we apply for a spousal visa for my Canadian husband? Or should we go through an ancestry clearance/visa through his grandmother? Or should we try to see if potential employer would go through the work visa process with us? Is the general points system easier?

Which is the quickest, cheapest and easiest way to do this? What would count against him? I've concluded that our 3 children can get British passports but I don't know anyone that's needed to get a visa into Britain.

Thanks for any help.

If you have been married and living for at least 4 years outside the UK with him, then he may apply for a spouse visa with an "ILE" or "KOL REQ" endorsement.
