Impact to tier 2 partner by tier 2 change of employment

Post by RJ » Wed May 04, 2011 10:25 pm

Hi,

I am on tier 2 ICT at the moment and planning to change employment. I understand the new employer would need to give the COS based on which I would need to apply for tier 2 change of employment. My wife is on tier 2 partner visa at the moment and working here with a company. My question is does the new employer has to sponser a tier 2 partner for my wife or can she continue working on the tier 2 partner that was sponsored by my current employer?

Many thanks in advance
RJ

1. One can longer switch from Tier 2 (ICT) to Tier 1 (General). So, if you wish to change employment, your (new) employer will have to apply for and assign you a "restricted" CoS, based on which you'll have to make an entry clearance application from outside the UK.

2. To avoid any confusion / mistake, best that you check with UKBA with regards to your wife.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
