English Language Requirements for extension of HSMP visa

Post by softlogic20 » Thu May 05, 2011 3:19 pm

Hello every one,

I am on HSMP (2 years )my extension is due in august. While applying for initial HSMP, i provided letter from university for English Language requirements. My initial HSMP application was approved in January 2008. (though EC was rejected and won appeal so one and half years was delayed)
Can any one please tell me if i have to take IELTS/ESOL now for extension or same letter from university will be accepted?

Looking forward for kind suggestions especially from senior members.

Regards,
Kash

You need not to meet this requirement this time as you have already met English language requiremnt in your original application. See the relevant section of the application form for T1G and your doubts will be cleared.

Thank you very much rizwan567,
i tried to search that guide but could not figure out if IELTS is required or not. its bit confusing. i would appreciate if you or any board member can tell me URL or page number for this text.
i also tried Extension calculator at BA web site and according to that calculator i have to take language exams. if i am looking some wrong calculator or that calculator's rules does not apply on me?

Thanks in advance
Best regard

Refer the link:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... hlanguage/

"You will automatically meet the English language requirement if you currently have permission to stay in the UK under Tier 1 (General), or as a highly skilled migrant under the Immigration Rules that came into force on 5 December 2006."
