Non EU National Moving to Germany from France

Post by ashish.pkumar » Sun May 08, 2011 12:18 pm

Hey!

My name is Ashish Kumar and I'm currently studying in France,Grenoble and working towards my master's in marketing.

I've recently landed an internship at Texas Instruments in Freising,Munich and the company is sponsoring my work visa for the same.

Will I have to separately apply for a German residence visa once I receive my work permit from texas instruments? If so, do any of you know how long that procedure takes.

Thankyou

I assume you have a Non EEA Passport.

You will get a 90 day visa initally in France (from the German Embassy) and then you have to register yourself at the Citizen's office in Munich (during this 90 day period), where they will work out your work visa and residency visas.

Usually companies hire a lawyer for residency visas for Non EEA citizens so it would be a good idea to liase with them asap.

This entire process described above took about a month for a colleague of mine who shifted base to Germany.

Ashish, What work permit are they getting for you? How long will you be in Germany for?
