Marriage in the US, then coming to the UK

Post by donis1410 » Sun May 08, 2011 6:56 pm

Hi there,

I am currently a serving Police Officer in the UK and I am dating a USC from the Ohio area who currently works as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

I am planning on proposing to her when I am next over in the USA and the plan is to get married in the USA sometime in 2012 and then apply for a marriage visa so that she can come and live with me in the UK and get a job in her field with the NHS or another private UK health firm.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on this route into the UK for my partner or any idea of how long this process will usually take from being married to her being able to come over to the UK and seek employment.

Thank you
