My Barclays bank is not stamping my electronic statements

Post by shamsa01 » Mon May 16, 2011 5:56 pm

Barclays bank has refused to stamp even the electronic statements taken out from their bank saying that their policy doesn't allow this any further. What should I do to prove the authenticity of my bank statements as my Visa is going to expire on 18th May 2011, and I have to submit my application asap.

Get their policy in writing and submit it with your application.

No. You should get an official letter from the Bank confirming their policy.

You can use the statements they post to you every month too if you don't have e-statements enabled? These would not need a stamp.

I went to the bank today and they have given me the printed statement with a stamp on it but they have stamped the front page only. This statement has got my name, account details and stamp on it but there is no bank logo is this sufficient. Thanks

You need to be more pushy if you don't want to waste your money on a visa application which will be rejected. The guidance says:

You can use ad hoc statements if it is printed on the bank's letterhead. Your statements are not on a letterhead.
Alternatively, an electronic bank statement with the bank's stamp on each page will be accepted. The stamp only appears on the front page.

I suggest you take a print-out of the requirements and refuse to leave until they give you what you need.
