Settlement visa application from India - 2011

Hi All,
I applied for my wife's settlement visa on 11th March at VFS Cochin and the VFS tracking status still shows that the application is under process. It has been more than 2 months now.

I heard from a few people that there is a delay in processing from indian BHC's for all visa categories.

Please could the awaiting appplicants please share share the dates and details as follows :

Date of application : 11th March 2011
Applied at - VFS , Cochin
Application under process : 15th March 2011

Hi,

I applied for my wife and child on 31st March from VFS chennai and I am still waiting for it. Has anyone else applied from Chennai during March/April?

Date of application : 31st March 2011
Applied at - VFS , Chennai
Application under process : 1st April 2011
Called for biometric once again on 27th April 2011
Biometric submitted again on 28th April 2011

They have a back-log at present so unfortunately you may have several more weeks to wait before your hear anything.

I applied for UK settlement via on 1st April, Still status is Application Under Process.

Application Date : 1st April at Mumbai[North]
6th April : Application Under Process.
13th May : Waiting[/b]

Can i know how did you met English test requirement?

Hi Ejaz,

She gave IELTS exam. Though she did her MBA, the guidelines said that they will look only at the Bachelors degree and the points calculator showed up '0' points for english Language requirement.

Perferred giving tests because the NARIC accreditation takes more than 15 days if you submit degree certificate + a letter from university stating that the medium of instruction was english.

Applied on 09 March 2011 at Mumbai North. The wait continues...
Current status: Application is under process at BHC.

Email sent to the BHC is unanswere. Franatic calls are met with the standard reply....application is under process, you need to wait.

The application is for my 5 month old baby. Both me and my wife have ILR. Wonder how they assign priority to process applications? Anyone any idea?

My sister is nurse in UK. She applied for her husband and daughter on depandant visa Tier2.

Date of application : 27th April 2011
Applied at - VFS , Cochin
Application under process : 17th May 2011

Looks its going to take more time then

I called up the BHC Delhi today and was told that they have a back log and are trying to get it done before the summer..

I have been told to wait atleast 51 days before i hear anything...and was told that medicals are not done anymore and are only done for people ages 60+

i had applied for tourist visa and my status till now is under process

called up vfs again this morning.....same reply visa is under process we can't say how long it will take.

and as if to scare me they said, some applications are under process since January 2011.

What do the moderators suggest I do? It's been 50 working days now.

I do not think VFS can answer any of your queries, you should contact BHC directly because VFS is just a 3rd party organisation that deals with submission and delivery of documents and nothing else. They do not have any control over the outcome of the application and have no ties with BHC officers in terms of decision making on applications.

Just off the phone with BHC, Mumbai. Same answer, we need to carry out some mandatory checks, which makes the process longer.

@ aceg135 - I think these guys are just a bit of a pain when it comes to giving you useful information. I would also suggest sending an email to UKBA, they might be able to give you more detail if they realise 50 working days is a long time. The problem is the people who take your call may be just some clerks who sometimes have way too little information, you never know if a person with more info might just pick your email to reply (fngers crossed).

@ fbacker - You mentioned that your partner submitted IELTS results, can you please let us know what was her score in IELTS exams? I know it is a stupid question because she must have score good since she has an MBA (well educated)!

Status changed to "Your visa application has been forwarded to the British High Commission" on 25th Apr 2011

After that no reply yet....

Received passport with visa only for my sister's husband.

3year old daughter visa still pending...

Can this happen? Both applied same time..

They are worried. Anyone had this kind of issue before..
