Good Morning All,
Hope all is well.
Please I would want to enquire or seek your opinion concerning the best way possible to address this issue.
I'll be eligible for the Bristish citizenship in September 2011 and I intend to apply for my wife's say within a few months based on her being " married to a British citizen ".
We are both currently on indefinite leave to remain since September 2010.
My wife would want to change her middle name because the native meaning doesn't go down well with our beliefs. Obviously she is a lot wiser now and she knows it represents something else. An issue that her parents strongly regret naming their kids with such reference i.e idol worshipping
We had a chance to change her middle name around the time we were getting married i.e. court or registry but we only changed her maiden name to her married name.
She currently have her national passports ( old and new) showing these changes.
My question is can we make use of this opportunity of applying for the British citizenship to change her middle i.e. just writing down her new middle name down on the form and obviously stating what other names she has been known by?
or do we need to apply for some form of legal document stating her change of name which will be included in her application package for the British citizenship?
I will appreciate any assists with this please.
Thanks.
