Didn't get plust 4 months, appeal?

Post by tiredoftier2 » Tue May 31, 2011 6:26 pm

Hello forum,

I got a visa for my entire program but it doesn't cover the timing of the results and graduation. I read from the UKBA Tier-4 Guideline that If I am on a program which is degree level or above for 12 months or more, I should have gotten entire program plus 4 months.

Unfortunately, I just realised that I didn't get the plus 4 months and my visa was issued for the exact program timeline. School said that if the visa expiration date is after the dissertation submission date, they can't provide me with any letters for extending the visa.

I phoned the UKBA about it and they said that I should have asked when I got the visa in the first place. I heard stories that some people complained that they didn't get the plus 4 months just after getting their visa and got their visa amended.

I was thinking if I hire a solicitor or write an formal letter to the Home Office, I could have a chance of getting my visa corrected? Does anyone have experience in this situation? Because getting out of UK means you are out for good. I want to make for the PSW which is closing coming April, 2012. If I go back, it would require lot more funds and I think it's kind of impossible if you're out at once.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the reply.

It's been exactly 10 months since I got the visa. Is it still possible if I just send it straight away?
