Can brother(over 21) of 4eufam come under eu law? thanks

Hello everyone, am 4 eu fam card holder, can my brother who is over 21 who is financially dependent on me come to ireland under eu law? I will appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Irish legislation does not make provision for the dependant or Household member of the Spouse of a Union citizen, assuming you are the spouse of course. It make provision for the dependant or household members of the Union citizen only. These people are classified as permitted family members

Thank you obie. Is it just ireland or the eu law. because according to the eu law the spouse and eea citizen have the same right. if eea can have dependant, i believe shld be extended to the spouse as well. Any comments please...

I believe it is the Irish legislation. The UK allows the dependant of the spouse, but insists the household has to be that of the Union Citizen.

According to the legislation it is only permitted family members of a Union Citizens that are facilitated into the state
