hi i am a work permit holder and working for the same employer for last 5 year recently the new rules came into force and we have to meet an earning requirement.In 2006 i have been granted work permit at 15000 as a restaurant manager SOC code 1223 in the code of practice (all the salary based on 37 and half hour) based on that my salary should be 18000. But when i took the work permit they advert for the job for 40 hours and my lawyer said my salary should be 19200 per year not 18000 as i am working 40 hour not 37 and half hour a week. last year my salary was 16500 now my employer want to increased my salary to the right amount as they want me to stay with them. now from 16500 to 19200 is a lot of increase for one year do you think it will harm my work permit or ilr? if do what should i do?

No it shouldn't cause any harm.
The most important thing is that your employer pays you at the appropriate salary rate as specified in the code of practice. Your employer would have to certify that you are being paid the appropriate salary.

but is it possible to increase salary more then 10% a year

i think it is normal .. within these percentages .. what they care about is when your salary raised by like 50% ... why it happened !!!!
I believe if your emplyer again raise your salary above minimum level and notify the home office with this as a technical change ... then it should be alright ...

A salary raise is not considered as a Technical Change of Employment, according to the guidance, if it's not significant (I don't know what range of percentage increase in pay is considered significant);

'Any significant changes to location, salary, level of job or working hours are not considered as technical changes and will be regarded as a change of
employment.'
