VAF1B-Sponsors Docs lost by Indian Postal service

Post by prasnna » Sun May 29, 2011 8:34 pm

Hi,

I've sent my documents (sponsors documents for family visitors) by Royal Mail's- Register post service on 13th May-2011 to Mumbai.

It's 2 weeks now and there is no news about them. Royal Mail said it will be delivered within 5 days. I've asked my relatives in India to confirm with the Indian post office and post office staff is saying that they can confirm that Parcel was dispatched from the UK on 15th but they have no idea about it.

Now I am in a fix as the parcel contains all my original documents viz. bank statments salary slips etc. I really have no clue what to do. Can anybody use our bank statements in any way or our address details etc.

Can I send the photocopies to VFS - I know they don't accept copies now!

Please can anybody advice here.

Regards,
Prasnna

by now this should have made it, if your realives in mumbai and you sent it first class air mail.
Get your realives to visit sorting office with a compliant letter get his stamped . Let it be known nothing valuable but they really hope it turns up and they be very happy if it does . Not saying but implying a tip will come if it arrives .

post reached mumbai after 17 days

My post reached home only after my uncle went to GPO and asked them to look around.

GPO babu was quick to point out that it only reached today!...excuses. I am sure it reached in 4-5 days and then left in some bag.

it took nearly 3 weeks!
