I came to the UK, from Canada, on a Working Holidaymaker visa - my intentions were to return to after the visa was up; however, after some time here with my fiance (UK citizen) I have come to enjoy the country and rather than move to Canada with him, we have decided that we would rather stay in the UK.
For reference:
He has lived in the UK all his life, and I have lived in Canada all mine (both with the exception of our travels).
What steps will we have to take to make this possible?
Is there any way I can apply for citizenship or 'further leave to remain' without having to leave the country?
Is it possible for us to get married without me being a citizen? What do we have to do to accomplish this?
Will the marriage prior to me being a citizen help or hinder us?
Any information or links are greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for your time in reading this.
