Myself and my wife are planning for a trip to france and want to apply for schengen visa. But we are planning our journey in the end of june, so is it appropriate if we apply for visa in the last week of May.

Visa is issued same day. Its take 3-4 hours to issue visa.

It takes only few hours if your application is straight forward and in order. Make sure your supporting documentations are correct and in order.

I got my schengen visa within 30 mins of submitting application.

But you have to have the correct documents.

to be able to answer your question properly, we need a lot more information.

I suggest you read >>this<< first.

I wouldn´t bet that a visa can be issued in 30 mins as the other posters suggest. That depends on quite a lot of factors, see above link.
