biometrics for newborn

Post by yallow » Wed Jun 08, 2011 1:15 pm

Hi, I have applied for a dependant visa for my newborn baby. I don't have BRP as they didn't issue them at the time.

However I have to book an appointment now for my son. This post is just FYI.

I find it very funny - we will not have our biometrics stored in HO database but our 2 month old son will. =)

Why do you find it funny?

You applied and were granted leave when BRP was not a legal requirement for Tier 1 (General) migrants and their dependants. Your child is applying for leave when BRP is a legal requirement for the category he wishes to apply under.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Hi sushdmehta, I just called BRP team and they said it doesn't make sense to take biometrics from a newborn, as newnorns can't do much - there must be a mistake in UKBA.

I will call UKBA tomorrow to clarify.

It is funny because I believe taking biometrics from newborns is just wrong.
