Qualifying Date for Naturalisation application

Hello Everyone

I have two questions in regard to naturalisation and British passport application

The date stamped on my Passport ILR Visa page is 03th August 2010.

a) Will I be able to initiate the naturalisation and British passport application process after 03th July 2011 or do I need to wait till 03th August 2011 to start the process.

b) My wife also have a ILR as we made a joint application last year. However,she had a more than 90 days absence in the last year after we obtained ILR.I believe she would not be able to apply for naturalisation and British passport along with me.However,is there any impact on her ILR status if I obtain the British passport.

a) Wait until after 03 August 2011. You must also be in the UK at the start of your qualifying period, five years previously.
b) No impact on wife's ILR status, if you obtain a British passport.
