Mr. Kayalami please advise. How to send PP to London ?

Post by gargr2003 » Fri Jul 21, 2006 8:49 am

My file is with London office because when I applied I was resident of UAE. Now, I am in India and expecting PPR shortly.
How I can send passports to London and get them back? Please help.
Can ask to get my visa stamped at Delhi?

regards

Hello,

You applied of your own or through an agent. I am in London and will be applying for the canadian immigration from the London office.

AFAIK the relevant visa office processing your application is the only post that can issue your COPR (intimate such to you by way of PPR). I believe most people ignore the comment on front page of the Indian Passport (I presume this to be your nationality) warning that such should not be sent overseas and courier it (DHL/Fedex etc) to the relevant visa post e.g. London.

Thankyou Mr. Kayalami, you are right I am an Indian. Please advise me the possible solution or what proactive action I should take to revert the situation.

If you are currently in India then you have only one choice ie send your passport by hand through some one who is travelling to UK.Give a separate letter to him explaining the reasons why he is carrying your passport so that he can answer if someone questions him.Now prepare a letter addressed to the visa officer mentioning that you are sending your original passport for visa stamping.PLEASE NOTE HERE YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM A LOCAL UK ADDRESS of anyone who is known to you.Once he received this duly visaed passport from london office then make arrangements to get it back to India but by hand.No courier service provider will handle it.New Delhi high commission has got nothing to do with it.

well.dont rely on any agency,Friend you are giving your passport to some one who is very close to you and he is doing this job on mutual trust.
Secondly, one more thing I would ike to add to my previous mail ie high commission in UK will NOT accept your passport by hand. This gentlemen who is carrying it on your behalf has to mail it after reaching UK.That is why I had mentioned that write a covering letter .Also high commission will not give it back by hand ie after visa stamping.Yo require a local address and they will mail it that address. For this you have to mention it very very specifically that duly visaed passport to be mailed at such and such address in UK.Once it reaches at this address then that gentleman brings it back to India.
