Can we claim Child Tax Credits

We recently got our ILR, both me and my wife are employed. Can we claim Child Tax Credits for our son.

This should not have any effect when we apply for our citizenship right?

Also - try having a look at the benefits section of the forum. this question or a variation of it is asked almost every day.
