If you have an EU FAM card based on Zambrano then you should not require a visa. However, the UK does not correctly implement Directive 2004/38 and requires a visa for persons with permission to remain on the basis of being an EU Family member.

So the short answer is that the Irish child does not require a visa but the mother does. However, the mother's nationality could exempt her from the visa requirement for the UK and without knowing that, i can't say for sure.

Thank you for your replay. The mother is nigerian but has indefinite leave to remain in ireland.

Indefinite Leave to Remain is a UK term. Perhaps you have Stamp 4 based on IBC, or Stamp 5 (WCATT).

How do you intend to travel to the UK and to where are you travelling?
