I am applying for my wife's visa next week. On this we have done a huge research and what I have learnt is that there are many applicants getting rejections inspire of submitting all the basic requirements. Eg:- Marriage certificate not of good quality or improper stamp on the certificate. Proof of marriage is insufficient in spite of providing tickets, photos, emails, Skype data and itemised mobile bills or says funds not sufficient in spite of showing the minimum requirement. I and my wife are concerned on this now.
In my case
Funds - I have personal A/C bank statements showing past 3 months balance of £800+£533/- as I am staying in UK from 2008 May. Many of you have submitted salary slips and company letter/offer letters. I am currently contracting and I take a £600/-pm as Salary. However, I have taken 17K as dividends so far, I know I it’s not a mandatory requirement to show Sal slips or proof of earnings as they do not ask this at the time of dependent visa but after reading the forms I am worried now.
Also my personal address in all documents is in a London address. But I don’t live there as my work location is in Edinburgh in such a case I only have a tenancy agreement in Edinburgh and not of London’s but my bank statements will reflect London address. Also I pay my rent from the company account as this can be treated as a company expense since I am away from London. Will this be a problem?
Currently the documents I have
Mandatory requirements:
1. Application form duly filled and signed. - Yes
2. Application fee. - Yes
3. Photograph(s). - Yes

6. Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate). Yes incl. Skype chat history and itemised bill history
7. Evidence of maintenance funds as specified in the policy guidance. Jus the 3 month bank statement alone
Good to submit (not mandatory):
1. Cover letter from the sponsor. - What should I include here, should tell them that I work in Edinburgh and about my company and me being a director and that I do contracting work etc..... this is my major confusion... Please help...
2. Cover letter from the applicant (dependent) - yes
Kindly suggest me if I am not doing this correctly or is there anything that I am missing out.
