Is Work permit transferable to new employer?

Post by zircon » Mon Jul 31, 2006 1:11 pm

One of my friends is working for a British company since last 2 years. This company had processed his work permit for 5 years. Now, he wants to move to another new job. Can this remaining 3 years of his visa (work permit) are transferable to a new company? Or the new employer has to process new work permit again?

Thanks,

The new employer has to process a new work permit again

Common question, easy answer. No. The new employer will have to apply for a new work permit.

Have a read at this list of Frequently Asked Questions on the Work Permits website:

In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
