Changing Employers

Post by channaserver » Sun Jun 19, 2011 8:02 am

Hi,

I will be changing employers in October when my contract for my old employer expires at the the end of September (Shortage occupation in nuclear medicine 2211). However, my visa does not expire until December.

My new employer will give me a new Certificate of Sponsorship in July, this way I can submit my new Tier 2 application on time, seeing that I cannot work with my new employer under my old Tier 2 visa.

Is this the correct procedure, or is my employer required to ask for permission to employ me first, before I submit my application?

Precisely what are the steps for changing employers?

You must ask your new employer for a COS, once this is given to you, you should make the application to UKBA.

When you have received your new visa, you should inform your current employer to cancel your existing COS from the date you plan to leave the company and start your new employment.

Thanks for responding.

So you are saying that I can be issued with a new COS even though my visa is still valid then?

Thanks
