what is a joint account proof?

Could anyone tell me exactly what documents you need for the PSW visa?

i cant receive a certificate as my graduation is in november, but a proof that i have been studying is ok enough?

the funding says,
Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) Policy Guidance version 04/11 page 20
Documents we require
The evidence used to support personal 97. savings for at least a consecutive 90 day period must be original, and issued by an authorised official of that organisation.
Evidence must be in the form of 98. cash funds held in an account (this includes savings accounts and current accounts even when notice must be given). Other accounts or financial instruments such as shares, bonds, pension funds etc, are not acceptable, regardless of notice period.
If the applicant wishes to rely on a joint account as evidence of available funds, he/she must be named on the account along with one or more other named individual.

What does it mean a joint account? Can you use your families account as a proof and you can access to that money anytime?
