Change visa cetegory from 'Tier 1' to 'Spouse of ILR'

Post by tulips4u » Fri Jun 24, 2011 1:07 pm

Hi All,

I am new to this forum to post, but have found the preveious postings very useful. So.. first of all, thanks for having such a forum with many useful tips!

I am on General Tier 1 migrant category from Dec 2008 till Dec 2011. Both I and my husband started work in the UK in Feb 2006 on WPs and subsequenstly got Independent Tier 1 visas. My husband got his ILR last month, but I cannot apply fro ILR on my own right as I stopped working about 8 months ago to look after my child (who is my dependent).

The question is: I want to change my (and my daughter's) visa to be my husband's dependents - i.e dependants of an ILR visa holder. Do we have to go back to the home country for this? or can we apply from within the UK.

Any advise would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

You and daughter may apply for FLR(M) from inside the UK.

I am currently on HSMP(Tier1) and my 4 yr old daughter is dependent on my visa. My husband recently got ILR and I am now trying to apply to be his dependents (using FLR-M). Could you please let me know how much of a bank balance we would need to show (and for how long) in order for the myself and my daughter to get the visa please? How much is 'sufficient' ?

Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks, Tulips
There is no requirement of a "minimum balance" for FLR(M) application.
