Child Benefit

Post by mazhar-uk » Thu Jun 30, 2011 4:41 pm

Hello All,

Before I ask the question it is important to provide some background information. (Please see below):

I have just received my ILR on the basis of 10 years long residence.

My wife and three children who came to live with me in 2003 as dependants of student are now living here as Tier 2 (General) dependants. My wife and 2 sons needs to apply to switch over to the dependants of a person present and settled in UK using FLR (M) application form. My third child (daughter) who was born in UK is now eligible to register as a UK citizen.

I am intended to submit the FLR(M) and MN1 applications within next few days.

My children are under 18. Me and my wife both work full time.

MY question is that am I eligible to apply Child Benefit for my three children?

This is a kind of unique situation where one parent have got ILR but wife and children are still subject to immigration control and I could not find the answer from anywhere.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks and regards

Mazhar

This is really not a unique question and has been asked and answered on a regular basis on this section of the forum.

It was better if you would write one sentence with some information rather criticising as the purpose of this forum is to help each other.
