Holiday visa for son and common law wife

Sorry if this doesn't really concern immigration.
I'm an Irish citizen but have lived in Cambodia for the last 7 years. I have a partner, but we aren't married, and recent restrictions on foreigners marrying Cambodians make it very difficult to do so now.
I want to visit my elderly parents in Ireland later in the year for 2 or 3 weeks, with my partner and our 4 year old son. He has the same surname as me, so maybe it won't be too difficult for him, I don't know. Will my partner have to apply for a normal holiday visa or will her connection to me make things any easier? We have no intention of staying any more than for a holiday, I have settled here and have no wish to reason in Ireland, especially in the current economic climate.

Your son will qualify for Irish passport if you have him registered in Foreign Births Register. You can get your spouse visitor visa from the Irish Embassy in Vietnam or Thailand see details below, otherwise without visa she cannot travel:
