TIER 2 EXTENSION

Hello everybody
I was granted tier 2 general visa last august2010 and now i have to extend it for another year for my internship in uk
i have been provided with the COS but i am confused of which category i need to apply to
is it TIER 2 INTRA COMPANY TRANSFER?

Extension = leave to remain in the same immigration category.

can somebody still work if they r waiting for tier 2 to be granted or you are not allowed to work
is there any clarification on UKBA wbesite regarding this?
