Tier1 dependent - main applicant's - passport notary

Dear friends,

I have read many people suggesting to put a notarised passport copy of the main applicatant while applying for dependennts in India.

Is this mandatory ?

Can you please provide who can do this work ?

also do i need to get it done the entire 36 pages of the passport ?

I dont want to risk anything, i am going to apply for dependent visa next week in Ind.

Please suggest.
