VFS Global Reference Numbers

hello,
wonder if someone who has recently applied for a dependent from Pakistan/India has any answer.

My wife applied, they charged extra 200 for SMS service which is fair enough. What about the online search option. When I enter her application reference number which is in GRY-PK-01-xxxxxx-x format, doesn't work and comes up saying invalid reference number.

Am i doing something wrong?

Ideas?
