Hello All,

Please does anyone know how to request for Naturalisation ceremony in another council? the earlist my council can do is 19th of July and unfortunately, they don't do private ceremony. Is it possible to have a private ceremony done else where? if yes, please how do I go about it? Thanks for your help. :? :(

Your certificate will now be at your own council. you should call them ask if they would be willing to transfer it to another council. This is your best bet, failing which you need to phone the UKBA Citizenship service.

Thanks gidoc, I actually booked the 19th tentatively, because I wasn't sure of what to do. should I ring UKBA and they might arrange for it? I didn't expect to receive my approval on Sat, I thought it was going to take a while so I booked my holiday for 1st week in August and reading the timeline on the forum, I don't think I can apply and receive my passport before going on hols and i don't want to risk sending my current passport to IPS and not getting it back before I travel... I am trying to see the best way to apply before going on holiday... I am just confused...

This won't be dealt with by the UKBA. As you've been advised, you need to contact the council where the ceremony is due to be held and ask if they are willing to transfer it to the other council.
Even if you do manage to bring the ceremony date forward, you're still at risk of not having your British passport through in time for your holiday. You need to bear in mind that you will have to attend an interview before the passport is issued. Also, passport applications and renewals are at a peak during the Summer holiday months.

Go for your holiday and book a date when you are back, best bet! You have 90 days from the date of approval.

Thanks a lot guys, very much appreciated.... I will go on hols and then apply when I get back I guess it will be much easier by september when every one is back from holidays....cheers.
