Qualifications confusion?

Post by esharah » Sun Jul 10, 2011 9:38 pm

For extension of my Tier 1 General, My Master's Qualification that was hitherto recognised with 35 points, now shows 0.

I asked NARIC to send me an equivalence, they recognised it at Bachelor's level giving 30.

So far so good. I saw the year of completion on NARIC, it is written as 2001.

Now, I was a student in the school from Jan 2000 to February 2002, having completed my Master's dissertation around December in 2001. My degree mentions the date of issue as 26th February 2002 while it also mentions 2000-2001 as the year. I assume that they work with 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 as the academic year.

I have always mentioned 2002 as the year of award in my previous applications for Work Permit (in 2007) and Tier 1 (in 2008). I am in confusion on which year to mention now?

I asked the school to provide me with a letter that shows the period in which I was a student and the year I was awarded the degree.

The school sent me a confirmation that shows that I was a student between Jan 2000 and February 2002 and that I was awarded the degree in 2002.

Am I safe to write 2002 as the year of award?

Basically, all this boils down to :

Is Year of Award asked by UKBA - the degree award Year (The day the certificate is issued on the degree) or the Year of Completion of the degree (mentioned by NARIC)
