British citizen (overseas) Hong kong student

Post by tom_hungston » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:03 am

Hi everyone,

I have a friend who have british passport which says Overseas citizen on the passport, and he is currently in the UK as a student going to university, and wants to findout whether he is eligible to work full time whilst at uni or is he allowed to work only 15hrs per week.

Any help or advise from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

If he is studying at degree level at above at a university and has a tier 4 visa then it is usually 20 hours a week in term time. The fact that he is a British overseas citizen does not make any difference to this.

Hiya,

Many thanks for the prompt reply mate. Does this mean that he is allowed to work full time when he is on summer holiday...?

Cheers
