My husband just received his (temporary) permanent resident status, by marriage. We have travel plans to visit Australia for our honeymoon, but I'm stumped on what documentation we need to have.

Obviously he'll need his permanent residency card.

Aside from that, since we're traveling to his citizenship country--do we need to take his passport?

We had previously applied for an Advanced Parole document and received it. Does he still need to bring that?

Is there any other documentation he will need to either enter or leave Australia, or to come back to the US?

We leave in a month, so any help would be very much appreciated! I want to prevent a honeymoon nightmare! Thank you so much! :) <3

Personally, as a rule of thumb for myself if I think I may need it, or am unsure of if I would need it I take it. So with that in mind, if you aren't sure about taking his passport, advanced parole document. I would also take documents you may need. This is just how I would handle the situation.

Green Card?
If she is mentioning about Green Card they will need other valid evidence of permanent residence status to apply for entry to United States. And also United States permanent residents with expired cards may be considered as "out of status" and may be denied entry.
