Tier 1 general visa advice to shift from PSW visa

Post by trueblue86 » Wed Jul 27, 2011 5:27 pm

Hi, I am currently working for company A for 1 year 2 months now, which leaves me 8 more months before my PSW visa expire.

Recently, I've been called for an interview with company B. Company B are offering better job prospects and is a fortune500 company. Let say I did make it through and they are more than happy to take me in. What should I do in regards to my visa?

Ideally I would like to switch my PSW visa to tier1 general, as the immigration office is getting really strict on foreigners working in the UK these days. However, I've read the rule that in order to switch over from PSW, I need to have at least 6 months working history with my company. This is possible with company A, how about if I do change my job to company B, what are the options for me?

Would like to get opinion on this, and get my visa sorted out asap. Thanks so much for the time!

Tier 1 general is closed for good.

Look out for Tier 2.

Problem is with Tier 2 ... you will no longer be allowed for ILR ..... though consultation is still in progress

Hi pkumar, from what I gather, if I work for 5 years under tier2(general), I will be granted?? No?

//sorry threadmaster, since I posted this on the wrong thread, I have already post a new one under Tier2.
