UKBA Photo Guidance and Change in Appearance (French Beard)

Post by adamboston » Tue Jul 26, 2011 11:23 pm

I know it sounds bit odd.

I am asking this question on behalf of my friend who is due for ILR (WP) this December. Since he was granted WP he has grown a french/goatee beard. Now the question is it going to be a problem when he applies for ILR. He looks bit different though with his facial hair 8) .

Thanks in advance.

No one is allowed to change their appearance in any way to be entitled to ILR.... Or alternatively, he will be fine, this happens, he has got older too.

Thanks PaperPusher you have made a good point.

Theinfo available on DirectGov refers to UK Passport Guidance (not ILR though) with regard to growing beard.
Minor changes to appearance

If you can still be identified from the photo in your current passport, you don't need to apply for a new one. For example, growing a beard or colouring your hair would usually count as minor changes.
Yes the beard grown is not for ILR but to hide double-chin
