You are in Pakistan. Which country is your spouse in? What is your spouse's citizenship?

I think you mean "Ja Ostereich"! :-)

If you both decide to move to a different EU member state, e.g. Hungary, Germany, or the UK, then EU law makes it very easy.

But if your spouse is Austrian and you are moving to Austria, then Austrian law is what matters. And I do not know very much.

http://www.auslaender.at/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13 is a good forum for Austrian immigration/residence law issues. But it is very German oriented. You might want to have your wife take a look. Or post a new thread in English and see what happens.

It's certainly a good idea to go to that Austrian forum. English is no problem there.

If you have started and paid for the process already you will have to go with the legal requirements. For entrance you may get a type D visa which is valid for 6 months or maybe just a type C valid for 3 months. Nevertheless you will probably have to pick up your settlement permit (important: that is not a visa!) within a certain period of time it has been granted, maybe 6 months or maybe 12 months.
