Me and my wife are looking to travel on holiday to Spain.
I'm a UK national, and my wife is a Ukraine national, she has a 2 year UK spousal visa. Also our marriage certificate is in ukraine, with a seperate english translation. We both reside in UK.
Does she need a visa?
Earlier this year we were travelling through Poland, so I read up about visas for spouses of EU citezens, and "sort of" understood that she would need a UK Residency card(which my wife does not have).
But when we went to the polish visa section in Manchester they told us that we don't need a visa, all we would need was a Marriage certificate. In our case with an english translation, which at the time we did not have, so they just gave her a transit visa.
Explaining that the next time we should just get a translation of the marriage certificate, and we're good to go around the EU, or perhaps they meant just Poland.
It all seems to be a bit of an EU farse.
Ta very much.
