Advice on form 8

Post by Crozier » Fri Aug 05, 2011 2:28 pm

Hi,

My wift is currently filling in a form 8 for naturalisation. We are a bit confused on some of the sections though. In section 2.8, the immigration reference number (on the GNIB card) is it the card number on the rear of the GNIB card?

Also, section 15 References - are there any restrictions on who can be a referee? Do they have to have known the person applying for a certain amount of time, or do they have to have a certain relationship to the person applying?

Thank you for the help,
Crozier

There are two numbers on your GNIB Card
1. GNIB NO (Question 2.7)
2.Dept No. i-e 69/****/** (Question 2.8 )

Referees must be Irish Citizen and must know you and it is not necessary that they are related to you.

Thanks again Pikka. Wasn't sure if it was the dept No. or the number on the back of the card. Thanks.
