Post by eupartner_pak » Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:54 pm

Me and my eea wife married in UK few months ago. Then we moved to our home country now we want to move to IRELAND, I am wondering which visa category is best for us and how long it takes.

if you have EUfam card u can come to Ireland for 3 months..then you need to apply under EU1 for 5 years..

I hope it is correct.

If you like to move to Ireland then first step is to get an Irish visa from the Irish mission in Pakistan, you will be given a 3 months visitor visa (more like a EU fam permit) and once in Ireland you can apply for longer term EUFAM visa, that is on condition that your EU spouse exercise her treaty rights (meaning work/study etc).

i dont think merely job hunting will suffice as exercising treaty rights but being in a tax paying job itself.
